GirlSummer offers girls ages 6-14 a summer experience that is enriching, personalized, and fun. Typically held on Emma Willard School’s campus for two and four-week sessions, this year is different. GirlSummer is reimagined due to the pandemic. This summer, GirlSummer is a two-week virtual experience for girls to Be, Make, and Move. Our program began earlier this week and is composed of live activity and pre-loaded content.

Known for the amazing adults and Emma alumnae and students who staff the program, this year is no different with many staffers upping the fun quotient. Staff members include Science instructor Erin Hatton and Health Center counselor (and puppeteer) Erica Brockmyer as well as nine alumnae, three current students, and longtime GirlSummer staff members.
One senior GirlSummer staff member noted, “It was nice to find the same feelings of creativity, connection, and fun as we developed content and put together a virtual program that remains true to the mission and spirit of Emma and GirlSummer.”
Don’t let the “virtual” shape your thinking about the activities. Virtually GirlSummer is packed with content including:
Solving a Rubix Cube
Live workouts and yoga
Make Your Own Catapult
The entire GirlSummer crew is enjoying the GirlSummer spirit that is a hallmark of the summer experience. Virtually GirlSummer runs from July 6-17.
